Je ne peux pas le dire pour sûr, mais il me semble qu'il y ait une forte possibilité que le nom de famille du célèbre Brett Favre est un nom franco-américain. Ici, au Minnesota, tout le monde jase de ce footballeur en prononçant son nom "farve," même les annonceurs de TV et de radio. D'où provient cette prononciation si abâtardie (et agaçante !) ? Joanne et moi sommes en train de faire nos valises pour notre voyage de retour en Nouvelle-Angleterre dans deux jours. Is it possible that it is a real issue that Chez Yankois is going to have to have to deal with? I do know by experience that it is a serious issue in Western Canada although we have likely a larger pool of people that can write in French. Renewing our francophone identity in minority environments in North-America

I wonder how much common ground there is with other locales where French has lost so much ground over the years, with or without a political border, e.g. Louisiana, Western Canada, Newfoundland westcoast, etc. Is there some sort of Manifesto on this matter? What's the role of medias for instance and how can they better "glocalize"? What happens when the French written language becomes so much of a struggle?
