Yankois Media is a company with a mission to serve the Franco-American population of New England. We're developing products and services on our own initiative to enrich our unique culture through increased access to the French-speaking world, eased exchange of our goods and services at home and bringing those goods and services to the world marketplace.

In addition to these products and services in development, we consult with area businesses, and those wishing to conduct business here, on web and general software technology solutions. Chez Yankois is an effort to allow francophiles of all sorts, but particularly the Yankois, the Franco-Americans of New England, to communicate and work together to live and grow their culture, and to not just to preserve it. Just as we hope that people use their real-worlds resource, the numerous French cultural centers and libraries throughout New England, we hope that Chez Yankois takes on the same role online -- filling the gap for those without brick and mortar resources, and enabling better collaboration between those that do.

Chez Yankois is not a company, but is a project of Yankois Media.

Chez Yankois est un effort pour permettre les francophiles divers, mais particulièrement les yankois, les franco-américains de la Nouvelle-Angleterre, de communiquer et travailler ensemble pour vivre et agrandir leur culture, et ne pas la préserver seulement. Comme on espère que des gens utilisent leurs ressources du vrai monde, c'est-à-dire les plusieurs centres culturel et bibliothèques françaises de la Nouvelle-Angleterre, on espère aussi que Chez Yankois servira le même rôle en ligne -- pour assister les gens sans ces ressources locaux, et pour permettre de la meilleure communication entre les autres qui les ont.
Chez Yankois n'est pas une entreprise soi-même, mais il est un projet du Yankois Média.

Salut!

I'm the person behind Yankois Media, and thus behind Chez Yankois. As you could have guessed, I'm a geek (welcome to my website) and a Franco-American (welcome to my *Franco-American* website). While this was my idea, I consider it a community resource that I simply manage. I've read a few people around the web refer to this as my blog and, as flattering as it is would be to have a blog with this many members, this is a collection of blogs, discussions, photos, etc by all of its members -- it's so much more than I could ever do on my own (and I've tried :-D).

I'm also behind the word "yankois," which I would likewise love to be considered more than just my own. The idea is many-fold, but it's most easily described as imitating the Cajuns: they have their own name, no one calls them hyphenated Americans or tells them to "go back to France" -- because Cajuns only happen in the U.S. Voila! Yankois is our name, it's not hyphenated and the only home we can go back to has the Red Sox on the television, because this is our home! (apologies to Eastern New York and Fairfield county CT yankois who may watch the wrong team ;-D)

Other than that, you'll learn more about me (if you want) as you stick around.

c'est la deuxième fois ici. Ma femme sera fâché si elle a trouvé que j'étais ici. Elle est vachement jalouse. Alors, j'ai habité au Maine avant démenager à Arizona en juin. Je n'ai pas eu de choix, grâce à perdre mon boulot. J'ai cherché un travaille pour trois mois, sans de la chance. Donc, je suis ice à Arizona. J'enseigne les jeunes recrues pour l'armée. J'ai terminé mes études au université du maine au sud en mai. J'ai choisi le français pour mon specialisation. Et puis voilà!
